Harley-Davidson Sportster S bookings open; launch soon

Harley-Davidson’s newest sports cruiser is on its way! The brand is accepting the bookings for the same and the launch of the new Sportster S is scheduled for the final quarter of the year 2021.

Harley-Davidson has now commenced the bookings for the second batch of the Pan America 1250. Also, the American motorcycle makers are accepting the bookings for its upcoming 2021 Harley-Davidson Sportster S in India.

Harley-Davidson confirms that the new sporty cruiser will be launched in India by the end of this year. This new sports cruiser from Harley-Davidson will directly rival the 2021 Ducati Diavel 1260 and the price is expected to be at par as well. Internationally, the Sportster S costs $14,999, which roughly translates to Rs 10.95 lakh in today’s conversion rate. However, the Sportster S will be brought to India via the CBU route making the price go higher in the range of Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).

The engine is the same 1,252cc Revolution Max 60-degree V-twin unit that we have seen in the Pan America 1250. But the state of tune is substantially lower when compared to its ADV sibling. The power is marked at 119.3bhp and 127.4Nm, and the six-speed gearbox uses a belt-drive system to forward the power to the wheel.

The electronics safety net includes cornering ABS and traction control based on an IMU. There are five riding modes on offer, three of which are pre-determined and the other two can be customised.
