Harley-Davidson X440-based Hero Bike to Launch in India by 2024

Harley-Davidson launched the X440 in India at a starting price of Rs 2.29 lakh ( ex-showroom). It is the most reasonably-priced offering of the American manufacturer for our market, produced domestically by Hero MotoCorp, with inputs from the brand. Industry reports state that both Harley and Hero benefitted from the partnership. The former gained access to a two-wheeler manufacturer (Hero), which holds expertise in low-cost production, whereas, the latter acquired massive technical know-how concerning the development of larger and mid-capacity motorcycles. Post the launch of the much-awaited Harley-Davidson X440, several reports are making rounds on the internet that Hero is now preparing to produce a new bike, which will be underpinned by the same platform as the all-new X440. For those unaware, the new motorcycle from Harley-Davidson is driven by a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, which produces 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm at 4,000rpm. A 6-speed gearbox takes care of the transmission duty.

Harley-Davidson X440-based Hero Bike: Key Details 

Some market reports claim that the platform of the X440 will serve as a foundation for speculated Hero's new bike. Hero MotoCorp may house the same engine in the upcoming vehicle as the X440 but with a different state of tune. Also, it is likely to have the same chassis. Details on the forthcoming bike are under wraps, but industry rumors hint that it could be a naked streetfighter with a sporty design. The upcoming model, according to industry reports, will cater to young riders, and include more amenities than the X440. In terms of similarities, the all-new Hero bike will likely get the same features as the Harley-Davidson X440, which includes a 3.5-inch digital instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, etc. 

Many industry reports assert that Hero MotoCorp plans to introduce a range of models soon. The X440, which just entered India, was also one of them. Right now, we have no exact information, but market reports indicate that the two-wheeler manufacturer may launch the new bike in the nation by March 2024.

Harley-Davidson X440: Price

Three variants of the new Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle are available in India: Denim, Vivid, and S. The 'S' is the top-spec version, while the 'Denim' is the entry-level model. The standard model costs Rs 2.29 lakh, while the 'S' variant has a higher price of Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, the 'Vivid' model, which is in the mid-spec variant, is priced at Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
