Honda Activa 5G launched at Rs 52,460

India’s best-selling scooter gets updated for 2018.

Revealed at Auto Expo 2018, the Honda Activa 5G has finally been put on sale in India. The base STD trim costs Rs 52,460, while the higher DLX trim will set you back by Rs 54,325 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

The most prominent design change on the 5G is a new all-LED headlamp and chrome styling inserts. Also standard is a new front hook to and a better muffler protector. Additionally, the upper-spec DLX trim comes with a digital-analogue instrument cluster that features Eco and service-due indicator lights. To differentiate it from the older models, two new colours - Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red - have also been introduced.

While Honda is promoting it as a next-gen model, the Activa 5G is nothing more than a minor facelift of the scooter. Therefore, it remains mechanically unchanged. It is powered by a 109.19cc air-cooled engine producing 8bhp at 7500rpm along with 9Nm at 5500rpm. A V-Matic gearbox comes standard.

The Activa has been the best-selling scooter of India for a long time now. In addition to this new 5G model, the scooter is also available in two other models called the Activa i and Honda Activa 125.
