Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has filed patents for the ADV350 and Vario 160 scooters in India. Both the models are already on sale in international markets and the Japanese manufacturers seem to be mulling over bringing them to our shores.

It should be noted that Honda is known to file a lot of patents to safeguard its products for the future in India. Similar instances were seen with the Scoopy scooter, the Grom mini bike, the NT1100 touring motorcycle and most recently, the U-go electric scooter.

The Honda ADV350 is a maxi-scooter that dips its toes in the off-road segment as well. The scooter that was first showcased was the 2021 EICMA and has since gone on sale in overseas markets like the UK. The ADV350 gets a 330cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that puts out 29hp and 31.5Nm.

The maxi-scooter gets hardware like a USD fork up front, twin shock absorbers at the rear, a 15-inch front wheel, 14-inch rear wheel and front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.  The Vario 160, on the other hand, is powered by a 156.9cc engine that produces 15.4hp and 13.8Nm, figures that are very comparable to the Aerox 155’s 15hp and 13.9Nm output.
