Japanese motorcycle giant Honda showcased a bunch of products at EICMA 2025, but the model that truly stole the spotlight was the all-new CB1000GT. Built on the robust and proven platform of the flagship CB1000 Hornet, the CB1000GT adds a mix of performance and touring comfort to Honda’s premium lineup. In India, Honda already made headlines earlier this year by launching the CB1000 Hornet SP at a price of Rs 12.36 lakh (ex-showroom) in May 2025, paving the way for more high-performance models like the CB1000GT. Let's take a closer look at the brand-new offering from Honda, which combines sportbike aggression with true touring comfort and capability.
The CB1000GT focuses on both aerodynamic efficiency and rider-focused comfort. The sharply angled front fairing directs airflow smoothly around the rider, while the contoured side panels and integrated pannier mounts add to the clean and purposeful stance. The inspiration from Honda’s CB series heritage, led by the CB1000 Hornet, is evident in the CB1000GT, but there are subtle design tweaks for touring. The robust fuel tank, seamless body contours, and tapered tail reflect the bike’s sporty performance and premium character.
The Honda CB1000GT draws its power from the same 1,000cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine as the CB1000 Hornet; however, the unit has been specifically re-tuned to prioritise mid-range torque. Due to this, the output figures are slightly lower (147bhp and 102 Nm at 11,000rpm and 8,750rpm, respectively), with revised gear ratios for touring.

For true touring capability, the CB1000GT features an extended subframe and swingarm to comfortably accommodate a passenger and luggage. It remains accessible and stable, thanks to its manageable 825mm seat height, 133mm of ground clearance, and 229 kg kerb weight.
The CB1000GT comes equipped with Showa EERA semi-active suspension that automatically adjusts damping using data from a six-axis IMU. It also boasts a full-colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync, an adjustable windscreen, and a full suite of electronic aids, including Cornering ABS and multiple riding modes. Premium touring features like a quickshifter, heated grips, cruise control, and detachable side panniers are standard, making it a perfect combination of performance, comfort, and convenience.
The Honda CB1000GT is set to hit the roads in early 2026, with UK prices starting at approximately £11,999.
