Honda sells 20 lakh Activa scooters from April-October 2017

The best-selling Honda Activa has sold more than 20 lakh units in seven months – a new record for two-wheelers in India

Over the years, the Honda Activa has become synonymous with automatic scooters. Since its launch more than a decade ago, the Activa has gradually found the trust of scooter buyers and it is this faith in the brand that consistently brings in the numbers – so much that the Activa is now the best-selling model for Honda. With the kind of demand there is for the Activa, it has now set record sales of over 20 lakh units from April 2017 to October 2017. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer sells one Activa every 9 seconds – that’s an average of more than 9,500 units a day!

In the last five years, the two-wheeler market has grown by 52 percent – the sales of the Activa on the other hand has grown by an insane 180 percent. If these statistics are still not enough for you to understand the Activa’s sales accomplishments, consider this – sales of the scooter has more than doubled since 2013.

Speaking about the feat, Y S Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt.
