Husqvarna has initiated a global recall for the Svartpilen and Vitpilen 401 motorcycles, manufactured between 2024 and 2026, to address a potential engine stall issue caused by a rare ECU condition. In an official press statement, the Swedish manufacturer revealed that internal quality inspections identified this uncommon condition, which may cause the engine to stall at low RPMs. As part of the recall, all affected motorcycles will receive an ECU software update. The ECU update, according to Husqvarna, will resolve the potential engine stall while optimising low-end torque and engine stability, resulting in an improved overall ride performance.
Husqvarna has stated that owners whose motorcycles are affected by the recall will receive a personal letter notifying them of the issue. They are invited to schedule a complimentary software update at any authorised Husqvarna Mobility dealership. The update is free of charge and will only be carried out by authorised dealers to ensure proper handling.

Husqvarna offers the Svartpilen and Vitpilen in India, but the current global recall affects 401 models, and here the Vitpilen features a 250cc unit. The Svartpilen 401 carries a price tag of Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The bike comes with a 398.6cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 43.64bhp and 39Nm, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The most recent Husqvarna recall comes shortly after KTM initiated a similar global action for its 390 series motorcycles, addressing a potential engine stall issue linked to the 399cc single-cylinder platform.

The recall affects the 2024–2026 KTM 390 Duke as well as the 2025–2026 390 Enduro R, 390 SMC R, 390 Adventure R, and 390 Adventure X models sold in international markets. According to KTM, internal testing revealed that the engine could stall at low RPMs or while decelerating, which may result in a loss of drive in city traffic or during slow off-road manoeuvres.
