Jawa and Jawa Forty Two BS-VI launched
Although Jawa offerings have been BS-VI ready from the time of its launch in November 2018, they have now received the update that makes them BS-VI compliant. The change has resulted in an increase in price of Rs 5,000 – Rs 10,000.

Although Jawa offerings have been BS-VI ready since their launch in November 2018, they have now received the update that makes them BS-VI compliant.
Jawa offerings have finally made the switch from being BSVI ready to BS-VI compliant. Like all other vehicles, the switch has resulted in a price hike. The Jawa standard now ranges from Rs 1.73 lakh to Rs 1.83 lakh, depending on the variant and colour. The Jawa Forty Two, on the other hand, is now priced at Rs 1.60 lakh to Rs 1.74 lakh (ex-showroom). The increase in price is on account of a rise in the cost of precious metals used in the catalytic converter. With this update, all Jawa models are now BS-VI compliant – the Perak complied with the new emission norms from the time of its launch in November 2019.
Speaking about the launch, Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO, Classic Legends, said, 'The Jawa and the Forty Two were ready to take on the stricter BSVI emission norms right from the time they were conceived. This is the key reason why both these motorcycles have kept their character and riding pleasure intact even after receiving the updates to make them more environment-friendly.'
The Jawa and the Forty Two are both powered by the same 293cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit that produces 27bhp and 28Nm. The engine continues to be paired with a 6-speed transmission.
Jawa’s direct rival, Royal Enfield has already updated the Classic 350 to meet the BS-VI norms. The Classic 350 now carries a price tag of Rs 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom) – an increase of Rs 12,000 over the model it replaces.
