KTM has issued a global recall for the 2024 lineup of the 125 Duke, 250 Duke, 390 Duke, and 990 Duke. While the brand has not disclosed how many units of each model are affected, it has identified a quality issue with certain fuel tank cap seals that do not meet the company's standards. Variations in the seal material could lead to tiny cracks forming over time, increasing the risk of fuel leaking around the tank cap. To uphold safety standards and product reliability, the company has advised all owners of the affected motorcycles to visit any authorised dealership, where the faulty fuel tank cap seal will be replaced free of charge.
KTM is reaching out to owners of the impacted motorcycles through personal notifications, advising them to promptly get in touch with an authorised KTM dealer to schedule the replacement. Owners can also verify their motorcycle’s recall status on the KTM website under the 'Service' section.

As mentioned, the replacement will be provided at no cost exclusively at authorised KTM dealerships, ensuring optimal safety and reliability.
Bajaj Auto has officially assumed full control of KTM AG following the completion of all regulatory approvals for its €800-million acquisition. The final clearance from European authorities concludes a review process that lasted several months. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, the company has purchased all shares of Pierer Bajaj AG, the former holding company overseeing KTM and its parent group. As a result, Bajaj now holds approximately 74.9% of Pierer Mobility AG, which directly manages KTM AG, ending the previous shared-ownership arrangement and giving Bajaj full authority over KTM’s operations, strategic decisions, and long-term direction.

Previously, Bajaj maintained only a minority stake while the Pierer Group controlled the company. The takeover also brought a restructuring of the holding companies’ identities: Pierer Bajaj AG has been renamed Bajaj Auto International Holdings AG, and Pierer Mobility AG is now Bajaj Mobility AG, reflecting Bajaj’s expanded role and full ownership.
