The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is among the most preferred motorcycles on Indian roads by both daily commuters and riding enthusiasts with its timeless design and strong presence. Since its launch in 2009, Royal Enfield has refined the bike, giving it a complete overhaul in 2021 with a new chassis, engine, and improved riding dynamics.
The 2024 model year update added to its appeal with fresh paint options and subtle feature upgrades, keeping the classic spirit alive. While the Classic 350, currently priced at Rs 2.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), continues to lead the 350cc segment, riders seeking alternatives can consider the Honda CB350 and Jawa Perak for a distinct combination of style, performance, and features. Let’s take a closer look at these other bikes in the category.

The Jawa Perak stands out as a compelling choice, with its factory-built Bobber design and sleek, low-slung single seat that offers a unique alternative to the Classic 350’s traditional styling. It starts at Rs 1.99 lakh, and is powered by a 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 29.5bhp and 30.01Nm, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

With details like the dual-channel ABS, matte black finish, floating rider seat, and bar-end mirrors, the Perak appeals to enthusiasts who want a combination of great aesthetics and robust engine performance.

The Honda CB350 ( also available as the H'ness CB350 and the sportier CB350RS versions) is Honda’s answer to growing demand for the modern classic. The bike packs a 348.36cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates 20.78bhp and 29.5Nm. Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), all-LED lighting, and optional Bluetooth smartphone connectivity make the CB350 a reliable option in the segment. It is priced starting at Rs 1.97 lakh. The CB350C starts at Rs 1.88 lakh, while the CB350 H'ness begins at Rs 1.92 lakh. Depending on the CB350 version, the bike offers slightly different features and design upgrades.

The Yezdi Roadster, updated earlier this year, offers a rugged and stylish alternative to the Classic 350 and Hunter 350. It is powered by the all-new 350cc Alpha2 liquid-cooled engine that generates 29bhp and 30Nm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch. Key highlights include wider rear tyres, a chopped fender, and a range of segment-first customisation options. The bike starts at Rs 1.93 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Bajaj Avenger comes across as an accessible and comfortable cruiser in the segment, which positions itself as a budget-friendly option against its larger capacity rivals. The Avenger range in India features the Street 160 and Cruise 220. With long handlebars and a relaxed seating posture, these bikes offer a comfortable, laid-back ride experience while keeping that timeless cruiser charm intact. The Bajaj Avenger Cruise comes equipped with a 220cc oil-cooled DTS-i FI engine that develops 18.76bhp and 17.55Nm. It features a low-slung, wide seat and upright handlebars, single-channel ABS, and a 280mm front disc brake. The Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise is priced from Rs 1.37 lakh.

The Hunter 350 offers a modern, city-friendly alternative to the Classic 350, bringing the trusted J-series engine into a more compact and lightweight roadster package. While it shares the same 349cc air-oil-cooled engine platform, the bike produces 20.2bhp of maximum power and 27Nm of peak torque.
