Maharashtra EV Policy 2021: Ather 450 Plus gets a Rs 24,000 price cut

The entry-level Ather 450 Plus has now become affordable by a substantial margin in Maharashtra. The subsidies on electric vehicles have brought down the price of the Ather 450 Plus in close proximity to 125cc scooters.
Subsidies in Maharashtra have slashed the prices of Ather 450 Plus. The electric scooter that was priced at Rs 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom) has seen a massive price cut.
The price of the Ather 450 Plus has now come down to Rs 1.04 lakh (ex-showroom); however, this price is effective in Maharashtra only. The scooter continues to retail for Rs 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom) in other states where Ather has its sales operation.
The pricing of the Ather 450 Plus in Maharashtra is now more or less similar to or in some cases even lower than the pricing of 125cc scooters on sale in India. The recently launched Ola S1 and the S1 Pro are priced at Rs 95,000 and Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra), respectively. Now with a lower price tag, the Ather 450 Plus makes a relatively stronger case for itself against scooters like the Ola S1, which seems to offer more value for money.
The 450 Plus is the entry-level model in the Ather lineup. The electric scooter comes equipped with a 2.9kWh battery pack, which offers a range of 70km (claimed). The power output is rated at 7.24bhp and 22Nm, and it does 0 – 40km/h in 3.9 seconds. The Ather 450 Plus misses out on Bluetooth connectivity features, which the higher 450 X variant offers.
