New Honda Activa 125 H-Smart Teased Ahead of India Launch

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently updated its Activa 6G scooter lineup and introduced it in India. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer also unveiled a new top-of-the-line Activa 6G H-Smart variant with an electronic key fob. The company is now prepared to roll out the upgraded Activa 125 H-Smart in the Indian market. In a recent development, details pertaining to the Honda Activa 125 Smart Key variant have been teased on the company's official website ahead of its India launch. Notably, the Honda Activa 125 H-Smart will be the name of this upcoming 125cc scooter variant from the automaker. The upcoming scooter will have features like Smart Safe, Smart Unlock, Smart Start, and Smart Find, according to a leaked brochure for the Honda Activa 125 H-Smart. A modernised display that can show real-time mileage, average mileage, and distance-to-empty is another feature of the model.

New Honda Activa 125 H-Smart: Mechanical Specs

Speaking of the powertrain on the new Honda Activa 125 H-Smart scooter, a similar tried-and-tested 123.97cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with 8.18bhp of maximum power and 10.3Nm of peak torque will power the upcoming offering from Honda. 

New Honda Activa 125 H-Smart: New Features

The scooter will have a Smart Start feature that allows you to turn the Lock Mod knob to the ignition position and push the start button to start the scooter without even removing the key. However, the smark key needs to be 2 metres or less from the vehicle. The rider can lock and unlock the vehicle using the Smart Unlock feature without needing a physical key. The scooter will automatically deactivate if the system detects no movement for 20 seconds after activation. 

Another feature called Smart Safe has a Mapped Smart ECU. In order to prevent vehicle theft, the ECU functions as a security device by electronically matching (ID) the ECU and SMART Key. A non-registered key cannot start the engine thanks to the immobiliser system on the smart key. Moreover, the Smart Find feature enables the user to quickly find the scooter from up to 10 metres away.

A new instrument console will be installed in the new Honda Activa 125 H-Smart, and it will show pertinent fuel efficiency data like the current mileage, the average mileage, and the distance to empty. The scooter will also have features like LED headlights, telescopic front suspension, front disc brakes, CBS, telescopic front suspension, 3-step adjustable rear suspension, tubeless tyres, and more.

New Honda Activa 125 H-Smart: Expected Price

The previous model is available in three variants: Drum, Drum Alloy, and Disc, each priced at Rs 77,743, Rs 81,411, and Rs 84,916. The new H-Smart feature is expected to be available with the top-spec Disc variant. The regular variants of the new model are likely to see a minor price increase.

Although the upcoming Honda Activa 125 H-Smart won't have as many features as the newest premium electric scooters, the brand will still stand out from other scooters in its category thanks to the additional "smart features."
