Indian Chieftain Dark Horse Unveiled

The blacked out version of the American cruiser bike has now been unveiled. The Indian Chieftain Dark Horse has arrived and will be launched in India as well.

American Motorcycle manufacturer, Indian Motorcycles has given us a blend of two of the classiest bikes of their range. it is the love child of the retro styled Indian Chieftain and the discreet and fierce flat black Indian Dark Horse. It is the Birth of the Indian Chieftain Dark Horse.

The entirety of the Indian Chieftain Dark Horse is painted in Matte Black from the lip of the front fender all the way to the rear. Every paintable surface of the motorcycle is flat black. The Indian Chieftain Dark Horse does away with the blingy chrome inserts from the standard Indian Chieftain to give it a more menacing, darker look and also gets a narrower windshield. However, there are subtle chrome finishes on the front and rear fenders, the exhaust pipes and the bags. Similar to the Indian Chieftain, the Indian Chieftain Dark Horse gets keyless ignition, ABS, cruise control and hi-end 100W audio system.

In terms of specifications, the bike remains sound as the standard Chieftain. The Indian Chieftain Dark Horse has the same 1811cc, 49? V-twin Thunderstroke 111 engine that develops 139Nm of torque @ 2600rpm mated to a 6-speed transmission. The chrome coating on the cylinder heads have also been replaced and finished in matte black in addition to the clutch and drive housing on the engine.

The blacked out Indian Chieftain Dark Horse has currently been introduced in the American market, but it will hit Indian shores soon. The pricing of the bike will be somewhere in the ballpark of Rs. 25-30lakh (ex-showroom) inevitable higher than the standard Chieftain model.
