Kawasaki ZX 6R

The new Kawasaki ZX-6R made its debut recently at the India Bike Week in Goa. It is a middleweight supersport with a 17-litre fuel tank, split seats, a full fairing, sharp mirrors, an aerodynamic windscreen, a clip-on handlebar, and twin LED headlamps as part of its design. It was shown to the masses at the event following the introduction of the much-anticipated W175 Street, which went on sale for Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The W175 Street is mechanically similar to the regular model, featuring the 177cc air-cooled motor with fuel injection, which produces 12.8bhp and 13.2Nm. However, it distinguishes itself with its unique tank artwork, Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Grey paint jobs, 17-inch alloy wheels, and tubeless tyres.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has just been unveiled in India, but its prices are yet to be announced. Although the Japanese manufacturer has not verified anything, market speculation suggests that the newly announced ZX-6R will be available in the country in the first half of 2024.

For the highest level of performance, the Kawasaki bike uses the RAM air intake system. It also comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, a bi-directional quick-shifter, and an assist and slipper clutch.

The bike has a perimeter frame made of aluminium and boasts 130mm of ground clearance. It has a gas-charged mono-shock at the back with 151mm of wheel travel and a 41mm inverted fork at the front with 120mm of wheel travel, both of which can be preloaded. The braking system on the Kawasaki motorcycle consists of dual 310mm discs with four-piston radial callipers at the front and a 270mm disc with a single-bore pin-slide calliper at the rear. It has 180/55 section rear and 120/80 section front tyres. In addition, the bike features a 17-litre tank and has a kerb weight of 198kgs and a seat height of 830mm.
