Triumph Motorcycles is set to launch its new 350cc range on April 6, aiming to benefit from the lower taxation on sub-350cc motorcycles in India. Developed in partnership with Bajaj Auto, this new line-up targets the growing mid-capacity segment while also taking advantage of GST benefits for smaller displacement bikes. This is the space where Royal Enfield has been dominant, making this an important move for Triumph.

The new sub-350cc engine is expected to be based on Triumph’s existing 400cc platform rather than being built from the ground up. The drop in displacement will likely come from internal changes, most likely through a reduced bore size. It is also expected to be paired with a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch for smoother shifts and better control.

In terms of design, the new bikes are expected to stay close to the current 400cc models such as the Speed, Scrambler and Truxton. Expect familiar elements like a round LED headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. The tubular steel frame, along with upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock, should offer a balanced ride.

Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS as standard. The roadster and cafe racer are expected to run on 17-inch alloy wheels, while the scrambler will use a 19-inch front wheel for better control on uneven surfaces.
Prices will be announced at launch, and the motorcycles will be sold through Triumph dealerships across India.
