With the launch of its entry-level and highly anticipated model, the Ola S1 X, Ola Electric, India's largest producer of electric scooters, has once again made waves in the country's two-wheeler EV market. The brand-new S1 X has been rolled out in the Indian market with a starting price tag of Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom). The buying window for all three of its variations, which are all available, begins today. The Ola S1 X has a top speed of 90km/h and a range of 151-kilometre on a single charge. The Ola S1 X is set to sit below the other EV scooters in the maker's current model lineup in terms of price. According to the firm, the Ola S1 X is a scooter that aims to close the gap between cost and outstanding performance, considering the full range of the company's product offerings. With the S1 Air serving as the industry standard, the S1 X is expected to draw an even larger audience thanks to its affordable price, appealing to both budget-conscious buyers and those who are unfamiliar with the world of electric vehicles.
The Ola S1 X Lineup
The Ola S1 X electric scooter is built on the brand’s cutting-edge Gen 2 EV platform. The exact same platform is likely to be used in all upcoming Ola Electric variants. Three Ola S1 X models—S1 X+ (3kWh), S1 X (3kWh), and S1 X (2kWh)—will be offered at pricing ranges of Rs 1.10 lakh, Rs 99,999, and Rs 89,999, respectively. If reservations are made before August 21, however, customers can get these at discounted rates of Rs 99,999, Rs 89,999, and Rs 79,999. Each of the previously listed pricing is ex-showroom. The deliveries for the S1 X (2kWh and 3kWh) will begin in December, while, those for the S1 X + will commence by the end of next month.
All-new Ola S1 Pro and S1 Air
Along with the brand-new S1 X, the EV maker also introduced the updated S1 Pro and the S1 Air, based on the new Gen 2 platform. With this revamp, the S1 Pro gets two new exciting colour options and is priced at Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom). The acceleration time of the S1 Pro now stands at 0 to 40km/h in 2.6 seconds. It boasts a top speed of 116km/h and a certified range of 195-kilometre on a single charge. It puts out 11bhp of maximum power. The deliveries for the all-new version will begin by mid-September.
Ola Electric recently opened the Ola S1 Air purchase window. For those who had placed prior reservations, the electric scooter is currently available for 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The second-gen S1 Air can do 0-40km/h in 3.3 seconds with a claimed range of 151-kilometre and a top speed of 90km/h. The power output for the bike is 8.04bhp.
MoveOS 04 Software
A new update for Ola Electric's S1 line of electric scooters was recently announced. The manufacturer has also rolled out the new MoveOS software together with the new electric scooters. The MoveOS 4 is going to introduce a host of new features in its fourth edition. One such feature, called Concert mode, is an extension of MoveOS 3's Party mode. When in Party mode, the electric scooter's lights synchronise with the music being played through the scooters. The features will be available starting today, according to the Bengaluru-based brand's social media accounts.
But not only that. Ola Electric has also upgraded the scooter's moods. Essentially, moods are various computer display home screens. Depending on the setting the rider has chosen, the scooter alters the acceleration sound. There are currently three available mood selections comprising light, dark, and auto choices. The OS3 software, which includes a variety of other features such as music control, call, and SMS notifications, and themes, among others, is currently installed on all Ola S1 scooters. Along with the Move OS4 update, Ola has incorporated the final versions of the proximity lock/unlock and hill hold for the S1 e-scooter.
