Polaris Launch Indian Motorcycle

After months of speculation and finally hearing the official word from Polaris India, the legendary American motorcycle maker, Indian, has now setup shop in India. The American bike maker was acquired by Polaris Industries in 2011.

After months of speculation and finally hearing the official word from Polaris India, the legendary American motorcycle maker, Indian, has now setup shop in India. The American bike maker was acquired by Polaris Industries in 2011 and just two years later they developed an entire new engine from the ground up and have launched the 2014 lineup of the Indian Chief in India.

The lineup includes the Classic, which is the base model with no fairings and no sidebags. Then there is the Chieftain that comes with leather seats and leather sidebags with the option of a clip on windshield; and finally there is the Vintage, which is the top model available with remote locking sidebags and a front full fairing with a windshield that can be electronically adjusted for height. All models sport the Thunder Stroke 111 engine churns out 139Nm of torque for an enjoyable ride, and the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The price for the Chief Classic starts at  Rs 26.5, the Vintage is priced at Rs 29.5 and the Chieftain is priced at Rs 33 lakh, all ex-showroom Delhi.
