Suzuki drops the first teaser of the upcoming V-Strom 650 XT BS6 on its official website in India. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in May 2020.

Suzuki Motorcycles India is gearing up for the launch of the V-Strom 650 XT BS6. The company has released a teaser of the updated motorcycle on its official website, hinting its launch is imminent. We expect the price of the new model to be announced once the ongoing lockdown period gets over.

Apart from a BS6 compliant engine, the 2020 version of Suzuki’s middleweight adventure tourer is expected to come with minor changes. Powering the motorcycle will be the same 645cc parallel-twin motor as before. The power output (70bhp) and torque (62Nm) are expected to remain identical in the new version as well. The engine will come mated to a six-speed transmission as before.

Elsewhere, don’t expect any major changes. The design and styling of the motorcycle will remain unchanged, albeit it could get a new colour option (Pearl Vigor Blue) in addition to champion yellow and pearl white glacier shades offered for the outgoing BS4 version. The cycle parts are going to be the same, meaning that the 650 XT will feature a 43mm telescopic front fork, a monoshock at the back, a twin-brake disc of 310mm at the front, a single 260mm rear disc, and spoked tubeless tyres (19-inch front and 17-inch rear). The new version will retain the three-level traction control and dual-channel ABS of the older model. Other features such as a part analogue-part digital instrument cluster, a 12V DC charger socket, an adjustable windscreen, ‘Easy Start System’, and ‘Low RPM Assist’ will continue to be offered.

The BS4 version of the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT was priced at Rs 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect the updated version to get dearer by around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000.
