Triumph has introduced a time-bound upgrade to the Scrambler 400 X’s warranty coverage, now offering buyers a total of 10 years of protection, split between five years of standard warranty and five years of extended coverage. This enhanced package is a promotional offer and will remain valid only until May 31. Normally, the Scrambler 400 X is provided with a 2-year unlimited kilometre warranty, with the option to extend it for an additional 3 years or 45,000 km. In addition, the Scrambler 400 X has recently received a visual update with the introduction of a new Lava Red Satin colour option. The bike’s price has also been marginally revised and now stands at Rs 2.67 lakh (ex-showroom), following a modest hike of Rs 758.
The move is aimed at strengthening the bike’s value proposition and appealing to new buyers in the competitive entry-level premium motorcycle space. Sharing its platform with the Speed 400, the Scrambler 400 X is known for its rugged styling and dual-purpose nature. This limited-time offer could enhance its appeal against other models in the sub-500cc segment.
The Scrambler 400 X shares its 398.15cc liquid-cooled engine with the Speed 400, both of which are powered by Triumph’s TR-series internal combustion platform.

This single-cylinder unit generates 39.5bhp of maximum power and 27.5Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox that features a slip-and-assist clutch for smoother gear transitions and reduced effort during downshifts.
The Scrambler 400X showcases a blend of retro design cues, including a round headlamp with a protective grille, a ribbed split seat, hand guards, and tank grips. Its tall, upright stance, with a seat height of 835mm, gives it an off-road-ready appearance that sets it apart from its sibling. While the design nods to classic scramblers, it also incorporates contemporary features like full LED lighting. The bike weighs in at 179kg.
Similar to its road-biased sibling, the Scrambler 400 X comes equipped with a robust set of features, including ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, an engine immobiliser, a USB-C charging port, and a slipper clutch. The dash pairs an analogue speedometer with a digital display showing tachometer, gear indicator, trip info, and fuel level.
Off-road enhancements exclusive to the Scrambler include a taller front mudguard, switchable ABS, a headlight grille, and a radiator guard.
The suspension setup comprises a 43mm upside-down front fork and a rear mono-shock, both offering 150mm of travel. Off-road ability is further enhanced with wider handlebars, a 19-inch front wheel, rugged footpegs with extra grip, and a broader cast-steel brake pedal.
