Simple Energy launches Gen 2 Simple One EV with a new 5 kWh battery, claimed 265 km range, revised chassis, multiple variants, and updated tech.

Simple Energy has launched the Gen 2 Simple One electric scooter in India, and this update is all about core riding changes. The highlight is a new 5 kWh battery with a claimed range of 265km, making it the longest-range option in the Simple One line-up. The chassis has been revised to improve rigidity and stability at higher speeds. Introductory prices start at Rs 1.39 lakh ex-showroom.
The Simple OS has six riding modes along with traction control and cruise control. The scooter gets a 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth and 5G e-SIM support. Features include hill hold assist, theft alerts through a mobile app, and Google Maps navigation. Storage ranges from 8 GB to 32 GB, depending on the variant.

The Gen 2 Simple One range now comes with three battery options. The Simple OneS sits at the entry level with a 3.7 kWh battery and a claimed range of 190km, priced at Rs 1.49 lakh ex-showroom. The mid-spec version uses a 4.5kWh battery and offers a claimed 236km range, starting at Rs 1.69 lakh. At the top is the 5kWh variant, which delivers the claimed 265km range and is priced from Rs 1.77 lakh ex-showroom.
Performance figures change across the variants. The 5 kWh Simple One does 0–40km/h in 2.55 seconds and has a top speed of 115km/h. It uses an 8.8kW motor producing 72Nm of torque. The lower variants are tuned more for city use, with top speeds limited to 90km/h and 0–40km/h acceleration times of around three seconds.
Mechanical updates are part of the Gen 2 package. The battery now weighs 30 kg, which is lower than before. Suspension has been retuned, and seat height is reduced to 780 mm. Braking distance from 60km/h ranges between 18.49 and 19.6 metres, supported by disc brakes, combined braking, and four levels of regenerative braking. Underseat storage remains at 35 litres across all variants.
Deliveries will take place through 61 showrooms in cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Jaipur, along with Amazon and Flipkart. Simple Energy offers a lifetime warranty on the battery and motor, a three-year vehicle warranty, and a five-hour charging time using a 750W charger.
