Yamaha has introduced a new iteration of its FZ-X motorcycle in India, now equipped with mild-hybrid technology and priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the brand’s latest push toward more fuel-efficient mobility without altering core engine specs. The hybrid system, built around a Smart Motor Generator, includes features like start-stop functionality aimed at reducing fuel consumption in stop-and-go traffic.
The bike retains its 149cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivering 12.2bhp at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The hybrid model also sees a tech upgrade, featuring a 4.2-inch colour TFT screen with smartphone pairing and navigation. Tipping the scales at around 141 kg, slightly heavier than the regular version, the FZ-X Hybrid blends classic styling with modest performance and modern-day efficiency tech.
On the visual front, the bike comes decked out in the Matte Titan shade. The 2025 Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid comes with a metal body and a straightforward neo-retro design, featuring the Yamaha logo on the fuel tank. The front uses a telescopic fork, while the rear gets a Monocross suspension that can be adjusted in seven steps. These updates aim to offer better control, comfort, and stability for everyday riding.

Yamaha’s 2025 FZ-X Hybrid introduces a mild-hybrid setup that combines the brand's Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS) to improve fuel efficiency and provide battery-assisted acceleration, particularly in city conditions.
The system automatically cuts off the engine during idle periods, such as at traffic signals, and restarts it when the rider engages the clutch. This results in a quieter and smoother experience compared to conventional petrol-powered bikes. The FZ-X Hybrid is Yamaha’s second model in India to feature this hybrid tech, following the FZ-S Fi Hybrid.

As mentioned before, the bike also features a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity via the Yamaha Y-Connect app. It supports turn-by-turn navigation using Google Maps, delivering real-time route and traffic information on the display. The FZ-X Hybrid also includes several practical features like a split seat with slip-resistant tuck-and-roll layout, single-channel ABS, as well as traction control.
