Ahead of the Paris Motor Show, Audi has revealed the all new 2017 Audi A5 and S5 Sportback which will make its debut in Paris in October 2016.

Mirroring the styling of the already revealed A5 and S5 Coupe that was introduced in June this year, the Sportback features identical styling with the addition to a four-door layout. The hexagonal large singleframe grille at the front flanked by xenon headlamps with LED DRLs and a heavily lined bonnet.

The roofline of the four-door sportback sedan flows all the way to the very end of the car to maintain the coupe style look with the added practicality of four doors. The interior styling is identical as well to the coupe. A large 7-inch digital MMI system display screen is house right in the middle of the centre console with long louvre air conditioning ports that stretch out all the way across the passenger side of the dash. Audi will also offer a 12.3-inch high resolution TFT virtual cockpit and an upgraded 8.3-inch high-resolution mains screen in the higher spec models with a Bang and Olufsen 3D surround sound system as an option.

Dimension wise, the Sportback has a 60mm longer wheelbase than the coupe while being based on the same MLB platform.

Audi will offer the same range on engines in the Sportback that are found in the Coupe. With a choice of 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol and 2.0-litre to 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines available in the A5 with different power outputs ranging from 167hp to 281hp. The S5 Sportback will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 TFSI turbo petrol engine that develops around 350hp and 500Nm of torque.

A six-speed manual, a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch or an 8-speed tiptronic transmissions will be available depending on the choice of engine for the A5 model.

The S5 Sportback, as claimed by Audi, can match the new S5 Coupe’s 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.7 seconds.

Audi had launched the previous generation S5 Sportback in India in 2015, the new S5 Sportback might find its way as well to Indian shores sometime in 2017, whether the standard A5 Sportback will make it India remains to be seen.
