The Road to the 2020 World Car Awards, which made its first stop in the United States for the 6th Annual L.A Test Drives in November 2019, comes to an end today. Here's a look at all the big winners of the 2020 World Car Awards.

Kia Motor Corporation scored a huge win in the 2020 World Car Awards, with the Kia Telluride claiming the 2020 World Car of the Year title and the Kia Soul EV bagging top honours as the 2020 World Urban Car of the Year. Thanks to the Taycan, Porsche managed to score a win in two prestigious categories the 2020 World Luxury Car of the Year and the 2020 Performance Car of the Year. The final category, the 2020 World Car Design of the Year, was bagged by none other than the Mazda3.

Every year, the winners of the World Car Awards are announced at the New York International Motor Show. However, as the motor show, like many others, has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, this year, the World Car Awards for 2020 were held via live stream from various parts of the world. Now, instead of launching its 2021 program at the Paris Motor Show, the World Car Awards will kick off the proceedings for 2021 at the rescheduled New York International Motor Show (AUG 28 SEP 6).

Prior to the announcement of the winners today, the Top Three in the World finalists from each category of the 2020 World Car Awards were announced on March 3rd. Prior to that, the 2020 Auto Expo, India's premier biennial motor show, was for the first time chosen as the venue for announcing the Top 10 and Top Five finalists in the five World Car Award categories.

All the vehicles were selected and voted on by an international jury panel comprising 86 prominent automotive journalists from 24 countries around the world, of which, our editor, Dhruv Behl, is proud to be a part of. Here's what he had to say about the contenders fighting for top honours in the 2020 World Car Awards.
