The new Maserati Ghibli is now available with three engine options including a hybrid powertrain. The Italian marquee has also brought in the top-of-the-line Trofeo with a 3.8-litre 560bhp V8 motor under the hood

Less than a year after its global unveiling, Maserati has launched the new Ghibli in India. The Italian four-door sedan has been brought in with three engine options at a starting price of Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom).

The 2021 iteration is the first time Maserati has plonked a hybrid powertrain in the Ghibli. The base Ghibli now comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol motor that works in union with a 48V alternator to develop 330bhp and 450Nm. Maserati claims that this version of the Ghibli is capable of dismissing the 0-100km/h dash in just 5.7 seconds. The Italian brand also offers a 3.0-litre V6 that pushes out 430bhp and 580Nm. Sitting at the top of the variant line-up is the Ghibli Trofeo. This one is powered by a Ferrari-sourced 3.8-litre V8 unit. Developing an insane 580bhp and 730Nm, the Trofeo can cross the 100km/h mark in just 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 326km/h.

For MY21 Maserati has also given the Ghibli some cosmetic updates. Although at first glance the new Ghibli looks identical to the outgoing model, look closely and you will notice a few changes. The front grille and the bumper have been reworked. Although the headlights continue to look the same as before, the 2021 Ghibli gets a full LED setup with adaptive Matrix lights. Maserati claims that these headlights offer a 200% greater field of vision than traditional headlamps. Not much has changed in the side profile. The rear looks sharper than before thanks to the sleeker LED taillights and the edgy bumper.

The features list has gotten longer as well.  The Ghibli now gets an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch TFT screen for the driver display. The four-door sedan also gets connected tech including Google Assistant and Alexa. Other features include soft-close doors, keyless entry, powered boot with kick sensor and more.
