Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) officially unveiled the brand-new Exter SUV just recently, with bookings beginning at a nominal fee of Rs 11,000. The upcoming SUV comes with a 1.2-litre inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine and a CNG fuel option. The Exter petrol can be had with either a five-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox, but the Exter CNG will only be offered with a manual gearbox. It is expected that the 1.2-litre engine will produce 83bhp of maximum power and 114Nm of peak torque, which is comparable to the Grand i10 Nios, the Aura, and the Venue. However, it is important to note that the official power and torque figures have not been announced by the South Korean automaker as of yet. Similar to its sedan, SUV, and hatchback counterparts, the CNG powertrain could deliver a maximum power and torque output of 69bhp and 95.2Nm, respectively.
