Hyundai Motor India has officially taken the wraps off the Micro SUV - the Exter. The brand-new SUV has a rugged appearance. It sports the company's parametric design philosophy. The new SUV features a split headlight configuration with LED Daytime Running Lamps in the shape of an H. Further, there are square headlamps mounted on the bumper. As per the official images, the Exter will have diamond-cut alloy wheels, all-around body cladding, front, and rear skid plates, and other exterior features. Although the rear profile is unknown, it will likely have the same upright stance, H-shaped accents, and body cladding-integrated bumper. Aside from the first official images, the carmaker has also revealed the variants and powertrain of the Micro SUV. According to Hyundai, the new SUV will have five variants: EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. Mechanically, a 1.2-litre petrol engine will drive the brand-new model, paired with either a five-speed manual or an AMT transmission. Let's have a closer look at the officially disclosed details of the Hyundai Exter Micro SUV.

Hyundai Exter: Powertrain

Speaking of the engine, a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit will power the Exter. This engine also does duty on the other Hyundai models, including the Aura, the i20, Grand i10 Nios, and the Venue. It will come mated to an AMT and a 5-speed manual gearbox and produce 82bhp and 113Nm. Further, a bi-fuel CNG option will also be available for the Hyundai Exter.

Hyundai Exter: Appearance

The Hyundai Exter has a bold appearance thanks to its short bonnet, upright front fascia, and skid plate. It has a modern grille with H-shaped LED DRLs on either side, and the square headlamps are mounted on the bumper. Sideways, the Exter's square appearance is accentuated by Hyundai's smallest SUV's round and slightly flared wheel arches and thick cladding across the length of the vehicle. Roof rails, dual-tone alloy wheels, a textured C-pillar finish, and dual-tone paint options with a floating roof effect are all available. Outside, the upcoming Micro SUV will be accessible in six monotones and three dual-tone colour options, comprising the all-new Ranger Khaki and Cosmic Blue hues.

Hyundai Exter: Variants, Interior & Features

As mentioned, the upcoming Micro SUV will be available in 5 versions: EX, S, SX, SX(O), and the higher-spec SX(O) Connect. Although the interior and feature list are still unknown, we may anticipate the model to get a large touchscreen system, cruise control, up to six airbags, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, rear parking camera, tyre pressure monitoring, and more.
