Porsche has introduced the 2026 Cayenne Electric, its first fully electric version of the long-running SUV and a major step in the company’s global EV strategy. The new model delivers up to 1140bhp and completes 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, making it the most powerful production Porsche to date. The company claims a driving range of 642km on a full charge.
Porsche says the Cayenne Electric aims to combine the everyday usability of the standard Cayenne with improved long-distance capability and off-road use. The launch aligns with Porsche’s broader plan to electrify key models, building on the approach seen with the Taycan and the upcoming electric Macan. The brand is preparing for wide international demand once sales begin.

The Cayenne Electric’s exterior design continues with the familiar proportions of the SUV while adding updates that improve airflow and reduce drag. Features include a low bonnet, Matrix LED headlamps and a sloping roofline. The vehicle also uses frameless doors, new side skirts and revised wheel arch elements.

Porsche reports a drag coefficient of 0.25, supported by active elements such as cooling air flaps and adaptive spoilers. These systems work together to increase efficiency and maintain range during mixed driving.
The interior benefits from a longer wheelbase, which increases overall cabin space and gives rear passengers extra legroom. The rear seats provide electric adjustment for different comfort and storage settings. Boot space stands between 781 and 1,588 litres, with an added 90-litre front storage area. Porsche also introduces new “mood modes” that adjust interior lighting, climate settings, seat positions and sound profiles. A panoramic roof with variable light control and ambient lighting completes the cabin package.

Technology plays a central role in the new model. The Porsche Driver Experience interface is led by a large OLED Flow Display at the centre of the dashboard, paired with a digital instrument cluster and an optional passenger display.
An augmented reality head-up display appears in the Cayenne lineup for the first time. The interface supports personal widgets, third-party apps through the Porsche App Centre and an AI-based Voice Pilot that responds to natural commands. A digital key system allows owners to unlock and start the vehicle using a smartphone or smartwatch.
Porsche will offer the Cayenne Electric in two variants at launch: the standard model and the more powerful Cayenne Turbo Electric. The Turbo version generates up to 1140bhp and 1,500Nm when using Launch Control and has a top speed of 260km/h.

Both variants use Porsche’s electronic all-wheel-drive system, Porsche Traction Management (PTM), which distributes torque between the wheels to support handling, traction and stability in different driving conditions.

Both versions use a 113 kWh battery supported by double-sided cooling and an 800-volt architecture. Charging capability includes 400 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10–80 per cent top-up in under 16 minutes, along with 11kW inductive wireless charging. Porsche will sell the electric Cayenne alongside petrol and hybrid variants as part of its updated SUV lineup.
