Bentley has revealed the Continental GT Supersports, reviving a name associated with performance. This car is a a rear-wheel-drive. The hybrid system, all-wheel drive, rear seats, audio components and sound insulation have been removed to reduce weight. The Supersports remains under 2,000kg, saving around 453kg compared with the GT Speed. The design puts emphasis on aerodynamic efficiency and lower weight. The front bumper features the largest splitter fitted to any road-legal Bentley and includes dive planes. At the rear, the body is wider by 16mm to support the new drive layout. Carbon fibre is used for valances, skirts, wings and wheels, while the 22-inch forged wheels are designed for reduced rotating mass.

The Supersports includes rear-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip differential and a revised traction control system. The suspension has been recalibrated to suit the lighter structure. Braking hardware features 440mm carbon-silicon-carbide discs with 10-piston front calipers and 410mm discs with four-piston calipers at the rear.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 producing 657bhp and 799Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Bentley quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 308km/h. The car uses new 22-inch lightweight forged wheels developed with Manthey Racing, while Pirelli Trofeo RS tyres are also available.

Each of the 500 units will carry individual numbering. The interior can be specified in leather, Dinamica or carbon fibre. With sound insulation and part of the audio system removed, cabin noise levels rise, highlighting the Akrapovic titanium exhaust.
