2020 Audi RS Q8 India Launch Announced

With a 591bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 under the hood, the RS Q8 will be the most powerful Audi SUV to be sold. The RS Q8 holds the record of the fastest SUV around the Nürburgring

Just a few weeks back, Audi brought in the 2020 RS7 to India at Rs 1.94 crore. Now, the company is all set to add another performance offering to its portfolio – the RS Q8. Audi first took the wraps off the RS Q8 in November last year. The RS Q8 shares its heart with the RS7 that was launched last month – a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 unit that is good for 591bhp and 800Nm – making the most powerful SUV to be developed by the Ingolstadt-based brand. It doesn’t quite come as a surprise then, that it holds the record of the fastest SUV around the Nürburgring race track in Germany. The RS Q8 can do the 0-100km/h dash in just 3.8 seconds – that’s just 0.2 seconds slower than the RS7 Sportback and the Lamborghini Urus. Top-speed is limited to 304km/h.

The RS Q8 comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that works in union with the Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The car sits on 22-inch wheels with 295/40 section rubber as standard, but customers can be upgraded to larger 23-inch wheels as well. The car also gets RS-exclusive performance brakes and suspension.

As far as design and interior go, the RS Q8 surely looks sportier and sharper than the standard sibling thanks to larger front air dams, roof spoiler around the back, rear diffuser, quad exhaust, and more. Just like most other RS models, this one too gets Alcantara sports seats, flat-bottom steering wheel, and a lot of other RS touches. Expect the RS Q8 to be priced around the Rs 2 crore mark. When launched, it will go against the likes of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the Lamborghini Urus.
