Audi has opened bookings for the upcoming performance-focused SQ8 in India at a token amount of Rs 5 lakh. The SUV is slated to go on sale in the country on March 17, 2026. It will sit between the standard Audi Q8, priced from Rs 1.13 crore, and the flagship Audi RS Q8, which costs Rs 2.34 crore, in the lineup. While the upcoming SUV from Audi shares the same V8 engine as its sibling, the RS Q8, the unit is tuned for slightly lower output. As a result, the new mid-range variant will cater to buyers seeking V8 power and ‘S’ styling, while costing significantly less than the higher-spec RS model.
The SQ8, being a performance-focused version of the Audi Q8, looks more noticeably sportier. It stands out with a revised single-frame grille with a patterned insert and silver outline, a more aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes, and 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, ‘S’ badges on the front fenders, and darker exterior accents. At the rear, it gets a full-width LED light bar running across the tailgate along with quad exhaust tips.

While Audi has not yet revealed the interior specifications of the India-bound Audi SQ8, the model is expected to come with a mix of Alcantara and leather upholstery. Key features may include a head-up display, 12.3-inch screens, and powered front seats offering heating, ventilation, and massage functions, and digital driver’s display with ‘S’-specific graphics.
The upcoming SQ8 packs the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine found in the Audi RS Q8, but it is tuned for slightly lower output. For instance, the unit produces 500bhp and 770Nm, compared to the RS Q8’s 631bhp and 850Nm.
It comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels, enabling the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed limited to 250km/h.
