Auto Expo 2023: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Launched in India; Check Price, Specs and More

Auto Expo 2023: The Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV has finally been launched at a price of Rs. 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). After the Kona Electric, the Ioniq 5 is Hyundai's second electric vehicle to mark its entry in India.

Auto Expo 2023: The Auto Expo 2023 saw the launch of the Hyundai Motor India's Ioniq 5 EV, priced at Rs. 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this price will only be offered for the first 500 units in India. Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform, the Ioniq 5 EV measures 4,635 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,625 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,000mm. Exterior paint options include Gravity Gold Matte, Optic White, and Midnight Black Pearl. The Ioniq 5 EV is the company's second electric vehicle after the Hyundai Kona Electric and features a sleek and modern design with clean lines, including distinctive Parametric Pixel LED Headlamps and a seamless clamshell hood. The car also incorporates an Active air flap for improved aerodynamics and cooling of moving parts and has 20-inch parametric pixel design alloy wheels to aid in aerodynamic efficiency.

The Ioniq 5 EV is also equipped with several high-tech interior features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an eight-speaker Bose audio system that can play six different ambient sounds from nature. The interior has a futuristic look with a flat floor, narrow cockpit design, sliding centre console, and sliding glove box. The Ioniq 5 EV has a dark pebble grey interior with eco-processed leather seat upholstery and features pixel designs on the armrest, seat cushions, and steering wheel. The dashboard and doors are made of soft-touch materials, adding to the premium feel of the vehicle.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is equipped with a 72.6 kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers 214bhp and 350Nm of torque. According to ARAI certification, it can travel up to 631 kilometres on a single charge and supports 800V fast charging, which can complete a 10% to 80% charge in 18 minutes. Alongside the launch of the Ioniq 5 EV crossover, Hyundai Motor India also unveiled the new Ioniq 6 EV at the 16th edition of the Auto Expo in India. Globally, the Ioniq 6 is available in two battery pack options: 53kWh and 77kWh. The entry-level models have an RWD setup with a single motor that delivers 228 horsepower, while the top-spec AWD variant has two motors with a combined output of 325 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque
