The export segment of India’s auto industry experienced robust growth during FY2026 (April 2025 – March 2026). Several made-in-India models, including the Fronx and Magnite, saw high demand across global markets. The top 5 most exported cars comprise SUVs, sedans, and hatchbacks from prominent automakers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Nissan. Here’s a look at the top five most exported cars from India in FY2026.
The Fronx emerged as a global favourite in FY2026, with 90,186 units shipped. Compared to 69,133 exported in FY2025, this was a YoY growth of 30.5%. Price in India starts at Rs 6.85 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Jimny seems to enjoy cult status around the world, and its India-made version significantly added to exports. Maruti Suzuki dispatched 72,209 units during April-March 2026, marking an increase of 50.5% over 47,982 units exported during the same time last year. The Jimny 5-Door in India uses Suzuki’s ALLGRIP PRO four-wheel-drive system. It draws power from a 1.5-litre petrol engine. Prices for the lifestyle SUV begin at Rs 12.32 lakh.

The Verna was the best performer in the sedan segment. Compared to 52,615 units shipped in 2025, the Hyundai sedan recorded 63,044 units of exports, exhibiting a gain of 19.8%. The Verna can be had with either a 1.5-litre NA petrol with 113bhp, or a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 158bhp. Prices of the sedan start at Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

Recording the highest growth among the top five, the Magnite has nearly doubled its exports year-on-year. The Nissan SUV saw 56,704 buyers internationally, a growth of a whopping 94.5% over 29,155 units exported in FY2025. The Nissan Magnite has a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which is offered in two distinct states of tune. Prices of the Magnite start at Rs 5.62 lakh (ex-showroom).

A long-time global bestseller, the Swift continues to perform strongly in exports. It shipped 53,661 units in FY2026, compared to 35,952 units in FY2025. This was a growth of 49.3% year-on-year. The hatchback’s consistent demand underscores its universal appeal across diverse markets. The new Swift uses a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine that produces 80bhp and 112Nm. Prices of the Maruti Suzuki hatch start at Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
