The eHS, MG4, and MG5 Estate electric cars were also showcased, hinting at their entry to India in the coming years. After Day 1's flurry of unveilings and launches, the second day of the auto show commenced with MG Motor India showcasing its hydrogen fuel cell MPV, the Euniq 7. The Jimny and Fronx SUVs were also unveiled by Maruti Suzuki. Now, let's have a closer glance at the top key highlights of day 2 from the auto show in India.
MG Euniq 7
At the Indian Auto Show, MG Motor India showcased the Euniq 7, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). MG's Prome P390 fuel-cell powertrain, which can withstand temperatures of up to 824 degrees, is fitted in the new hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle. The MPV's features include automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, and an automated tailgate. The FCEV's safety package comprises ESC, ABS, etc. The Kia Carnival and the Euniq 7 are nearly the same sizes at 5,200mm. There are several seating configurations available for the MG MPV, including a seven-seat layout and a six-seat design with captain seats in the middle row. The MPV comes with sliding back doors. A large grille and long LED headlights dominate the front design.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door
After much anticipation, Maruti Suzuki finally uncloaked its highly speculated model, Jimny 5-Door in India. The three-door Suzuki Jimny, which is already sold in a number of nations worldwide, serves as the inspiration for the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door. The new-gen Jimny, which has been made longer to accommodate an additional set of doors, arrived with a 4WD drivetrain, iconic front and back designs, and an upgraded infotainment system. Mechanically, it will share a 1.5-litre petrol engine with the Ertiga, Ciaz, and most recent Brezza. The engine will put out 103bhp of maximum power and 130Nm of peak torque with a manual transmission. The brand-new six-speed AT might be offered as an option. Maruti Suzuki has started taking pre-orders for the new Jimny in India.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Baleno-based crossover SUV finally debuted in India as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The Fronx's powertrains feature the 1-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine's comeback. It has been modified with mild-hybrid technology and will be available with a six-speed automatic transmission. In terms of design, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has taken cues from the existing Grand Vitara and the Baleno. It sports a revamped mesh grille with a chrome strip, eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, a sizable bumper, and headlights above the bumper. The model's tail lamp cluster is similar to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. With the exception of the Grand Vitara's burgundy-and-black upholstery pattern, the inside of the car mirrors that of the current-generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The bookings of the model have also started and it will go on sale in April 2023.
