BMW India have just launched the 1 Series M Performance Edition in India. While this special edition 1 Series will now bear an M badge, there are no mechanical updates. All the model variants in the 1 Series range will be available with M Performance accessories that include the M Aerodynamics Package and cosmetic changes such as a black front grille, a rear spoiler and racing stripes.

BMW's M Aerodynamics Package includes a new front bumper, rear bumper and side sills that will improve the handling capabilities of the BMW 1 Series. The M Performance lettering on the side sills also accentuates the aggressive and sporty character.

Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said, “The BMW brand stands for dynamics, innovation and unique motorsport expertise. The innovative BMW M Performance Accessories bring this motorsport knowledge to the streets to individualise and enhance the sporty personality of your BMW. The dynamic appearance of the new BMW 1 Series M Performance Edition cultivates a breathtaking racing look in everyday driving.”

The launch of the BMW 1 Series M Performance Edition seems to be BMW's answer to the recently launched special edition Mercedes A and B Class hatches.

The pricing starts as Rs 22.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the BMW 116i M Performance Edition, while the 118d M, 118d Sport M, and 118d Sport Plus are available for Rs 25.6 lakh, Rs 28.5 lakh, and Rs 32.5 lakh, respectively.
