BMW seems to be lining up the X6 for a return to India. The coupe-SUV was recently showcased in India by the German car maker, and that usually means a launch is not too far away. The model was taken off sale in January 2023, so this will mark its comeback. The version expected here is the M60i xDrive.
The BMW X6 M60i blends performance with everyday usability. It is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with a mild-hybrid system, and comes with features like rear-wheel steering, a curved dual-screen setup, ventilated seats, ADAS, and a Harman Kardon sound system, making it a well-rounded performance SUV.
The X6 has always been about standing out, and that has not changed. It mixes SUV size with a coupe-like roofline, which gives it a very different road presence compared to more conventional luxury SUVs.

Up front, you get a blacked-out kidney grille with vertical slats and slim LED headlights. The bumper has large air intakes and a gloss black finish, which adds a bit of aggression without going over the top. Along the sides, the sloping roofline is the main highlight, and the 21-inch wheels fill up the arches well. The red brake callipers add a subtle contrast.

At the rear, the design stays clean with wraparound LED tail-lights, a black bumper, and twin exhaust outlets. It is a big SUV, but the styling helps it look lower and wider than it actually is.
The interior layout is neat and driver-focused, with the curved display taking centre stage. You get a 14.9-inch infotainment screen paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
The good bit is that it is not all touch-based. There are still physical controls where they matter, which makes it easier to use on the move. The cabin also gets ambient lighting and a clean dashboard layout.

Features include ventilated front seats with memory, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. It also gets rear-wheel steering, which should help in tight parking spots. The India-spec car is expected to come with ADAS and a Harman Kardon sound system as well.
As mentioned, the X6 M60i uses a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid setup. It produces 516bhp and 750Nm, and sends power to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and BMW’s xDrive system.

Performance is strong for a car of this size. BMW claims it can do 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds, with the top speed limited to 250km/h.
If launched, it will take on the Audi SQ8, Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe in India.
