BS6 Ford Endeavour with 2.0-litre diesel engine launched at Rs 29.55 lakh

Ford has launched the 2020 BS6 Endeavour with introductory ex-showroom prices starting from ₹29.55 lakh. Changes include a new 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine, a new 10-speed automatic transmission, new LED headlamps, FordPass connectivity suite & a simplified variant line-up.

Changes on the 2020 BS-VI Ford Endeavour include a new 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine, a new 10-speed automatic transmission, new LED headlamps, FordPass connectivity suite & a simplified variant line-up. Erstwhile base variant – 4x2 Titanium MT – axed, making the Endeavour an automatic-only SUV henceforth.

Within a month of introducing the BS-VI EcoSport & similarly updated versions of the Aspire, Figo & Freestyle, Ford has now launched the 2020 BS-VI Endeavour, with introductory ex-showroom prices starting from ₹29.55 lakh. The introductory prices (listed below for all variants) are applicable only on bookings made till 30th April 2020, post which, the prices are likely to go up by about ₹70,000 across the range (revised prices applicable from 1st May 2020).

Changes on the 2020 Endeavour include a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder EcoBlue diesel engine (claimed to be quieter & more fuel-efficient than the previous two engine options) that's mated to an all-new 10-speed automatic gearbox. The new engine develops 168bhp & 420Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the new gearbox also comes with Progressive Range Select/SelectShift® technology.

The new powertrain setup will be offered in both 4x2 & 4x4 configurations. The claimed fuel-efficiency figure for the 4x2 versions is pegged at 13.9km/l and at 12.4km/l for the latter. For reference, the old 2.2-litre four-cylinder unit developed 157bhp & 385Nm of peak torque, while the five-cylinder 3.2-litre unit pumped out 197bhp & 470Nm of torque.

In terms of features, new on the 2020 Ford Endeavour is the brand's all-new FordPass connectivity suite (which Ford announced will be offered on all its BS-VI compliant models) and new all-LED headlamps that have been housed in a redesigned headlight cluster. Further, the 2020 Endeavour will be available only in three colour options - Diamond White, Diffused Silver & Absolute Black (Sunset Red & Smoke Grey colour options discontinued).

With the erstwhile entry-level Titanium 4x2 MT variant discontinued for the 2020 model, the Endeavour is now available only in three automatic variants - Titanium 4x2, Titanium+ 4x2 & Titanium+ 4x4.
