The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV has crossed the milestone of 10 lakh units in global sales. The model went on sale in China by the name Yuan Plus in February 2022. It is currently available in several international markets, including India, and is priced here starting from Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Dynamic variant. Interestingly, the electrified BYD Atto 3 received its mid-life update in March 2025, with feature and mechanical changes. The Atto 3 retains its futuristic design, but its overall appeal has now been enhanced. The SUV is one of the popular BYD products in India and, thanks to its style, technology, and practicality, it is one of the premium SUVs in the electric segment. The Atto 3 made its debut in India in November 2022 and has since served as a strong launchpad for BYD’s entry into the country’s passenger vehicle segment. Currently, it is offered in three variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Superior. The SUV is offered in its MY25 avatar in our market with meaningful enhancements, particularly under the hood. One of the key upgrades is the shift to a new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) auxiliary battery from the previous low-voltage battery. The new battery claims to reduce weight significantly and improve discharge efficiency, resulting in a longer battery life of up to 15 years.
The BYD Atto 3 is available with two battery pack options: a 49.92 kWh and a larger 50.48 kWh pack. Both variants are powered by a motor that produces 201bhp and 310Nm. Depending on the configuration, the electric SUV delivers a claimed ARAI-certified range of up to 468 kilometres and 521 kilometres, respectively.
