Datsun redi-GO 1.0 Gold launched at Rs. 3.69 lakh

The redi-GO Gold edition is based on the top end 1.0-litre T(O) model of Datsun’s entry level hatchback.

The influx of special edition models to mark the festive season seems to not end anytime soon. Now, Nissan owned Datsun has launched a limited edition model of its redi-GO hatchback.

Available only in the higher-spec 1.0-litre version, the redi-GO sports cosmetic enhancements along with some additional equipment. Available in shades of grey, silver and white, the redi-GO Gold sports prominent black and golden body stripes on the outside. Also present are subtle golden accents on the grille and wheel covers.

On the inside, the upholstery gains the golden theme as well. However, what sets this limited edition apart is the added equipment. There is a segment first ambient lighting mobile app, using which the mood lighting of the redi-GO can be customised according to one’s taste. Reverse parking sensors are standard as well.

Mechanically, the Gold edition carries forward the same internals as that of the redi-GO 1.0-litre. So, under the hood lies a 999cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
