Deliveries expected to commence on 1st October
Following the official unveil of the Avventura Urban Cross at the Auto Expo earlier this year, Fiat started accepting bookings for the car this month. The Ranjangaon-based car maker has now officially launched the Avventura Urban Cross at an introductory price of Rs 6.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Active diesel trim, making it the most affordable diesel in its class. Deliveries of the Urban Cross are expected to commence on 1st October.
The Avventura Urban Cross, like its namesake, is based on the Punto Evo, making it the third iteration to be developed from the hatchback. However, there are a few things that set it apart from its sibling. The most noticeable difference being the absence of the tailgate mounted spare wheel, a new black honeycomb grille, redesigned bumper with silver skid plates at the front and the rear. The Avventura Urban Cross gets chunky plastic claddings that giving it that crossover hatchback identity.
On the inside, the layout of the dashboard remains identical to its siblings but the Urban Cross gets dual tone red and black treatment with a touchscreen infotainment system. This is the same infotainment unit that is now also available on the Punto Evo, and comes with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity. Other features include automatic climate control, steering mounted control, speed sensing auto lock, rear AC vents and more.
Under the hood, you get the option of a petrol as well as a diesel motor. The petrol Urban Cross gets the 145bhp 1.4-litre T-Jet motor that Fiat sells under the Abarth banner. The Urban Cross is also on sale with the 1.3-litre diesel powerplant that makes 90bhp. Both these engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Like the Avventura, the Urban Cross too gets 205mm ground clearance and comes fitted with 205/55 R16 tyres. The Urban Cross gets different alloy wheel in the petrol and diesel variants.
Fiat has launched the Avventura Urban Cross in two diesel, and one petrol variant. the 1.3-litre Active variant is priced at Rs 6.85 lakh, while the 1.3-litre Dynamic variant carries a sticker price of Rs 7.45 lakh. The Petrol Urban Cross with the 1.4-litre T-Jet motor is priced at 9.85 lakh. All prices ex-showroom Delhi.
