Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India today launched the iconic Abarth 595 Competizione model in India. It will be imported as a completely build unit, therefore, its price is on the higher side and is available at Rs 29.85 lakhs, Ex-showroom, Delhi.

The Abarth 595 is powered by a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine, which can pump out 159bhp at 5,500rpm and 230Nm of torque. It can do 0-100km/h in 7.4 seconds and has a top speed of 210km/h. The petrol engine is mated with an Automated Manual Transmission with Manual Override. It comes in two two driving modes, normal and sport. To compliment its handling capability, the 595 Competizione sports 17-inch alloy wheels.

Fiat has beautifully blended the cabin with a retro and contemporary feel. The small sporty steering wheel is leather wrapped and has multifunction buttons. It also gets paddle shifts mounted on it. The 595 Competizione comes with hand stitched leather seats.

The Abarth 595 Competizione will be available in four colours - Iridato White, Scorpione Black, Cordolo Red and Campovolo Grey. It will only be available in five cities -- New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru.

Speaking on the launch, Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director, FCA India Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. said, “The flagship model Abarth 595 Competizione, a sports performance coupe, is renowned world over for its sheer performance, iconic style and rich heritage. With this launch, we are hoping to bring this same legacy to our Indian customers and are confident that Abarth would provide a superior driving experience.”

He further added, “Additionally we will also bring in another performance oriented hatchback in the Abarth range by introducing India’s first hot hatch Punto Abarth, which is locally made.”
