Ford Mustang GT 2018 India Bound

The refreshed Mustang will make about 10 percent more power than before and will come with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It will also come with cosmetic changes on the outside and inside

After a long wait, Ford will finally bring in an updated version of the Mustang to India. The launch is expected around April 2020. The model that will make its way to India was first unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and has already been on sale in the international market.

This refreshed Mustang will be powered by the same 5.0-litre V8 motor but it will now push out about 444bhp – in comparison the outgoing model’s 396bhp. Aside from the bump in power, the biggest change is the new transmission. The face-lifted Mustang will now get a 10-speed automatic transmission from the F-150 pick-up. The model that is currently on sale comes paired with a 6-speed automatic.

In terms of design, the Mustang now gets a new face, with a sharper lower lip and an edgier bumper design. The bonnet has been lowered and it now gets integrated air vents. The rear bumper has also been worked upon and it also sits on new 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the Mustang gets a bunch of updates including a new 12-inch instrument cluster. The dashboard is made of soft-touch plastic that gives the interior a premium feel. In terms of equipment, the Mustang face-lift will come with LED lighting as standard, and an adaptive cruise control.

The Mustang is on sale in the international market in three colours – blue, orange and red. Ford brought the Mustang to India in 2016 but haven’t brought in the subsequent updated models since then. At the time of its launch in 2016, Ford had priced it at Rs 65 lakh.
