Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV is arguably one of the most-awaited electric cars in India and it is the company’s first BEV to be introduced on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Hyundai Motor India has opened bookings for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV for Rs 1 lakh in India. As per the company, the Ioniq 5 EV will come with a claimed range of 631 km per charge.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been developed on E-GMP which allows the company to maximise interior space. The car also features eco-friendly materials across various touchpoints. Coupling the strong performance capability of this BEV with an ultra-fast charging capability of 10 % - 80 % in just 18 minutes (using a 350kw DC charger) and innovative solutions such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Inside and Outside, as well as Hyundai SmartSense (Level 2 ADAS), Hyundai Ioniq 5 is geared up to redefine electric mobility lifestyle like never before.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 boasts a unique exterior design that is characterised by clean and sharp lines, featuring contours that give this BEV a definite SUV silhouette. The face of the car is defined by the distinctive Parametric Pixel LED Headlamps which reflects the unique pixel signature, a design inspiration for this BEV. The clamshell hood features a smooth and seamless design and the car also features an Active air flap (AAF) that improves aerodynamics when closed and cools vehicle parts when open.

On the sides, the Ioniq 5 is defined by Z-shaped side character lines and the biggest draw is the 20-inch parametric pixel design alloy wheels which are also claimed to aid the aerodynamic efficiency of the car. It is from here that you can also see the flush door handles that automatically pop out when the driver is in close proximity.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 features a 12.3-inch touchscreen Infotainment and comes with a Bose sound system with eight speakers that can also play six kinds of ambient sounds of nature. Next to it is the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster showing all the necessary information to the driver.

The car has an impressive wheelbase of 3000mm which allows it to have huge cabin space carved out for the passengers. The combination of a flat floor and the slim cockpit design, sliding centre console and sliding glove box give it a futuristic appeal.
