Isuzu opens bookings for the new D-Max V-Cross at Rs. 12.49 lakh, deliveries to commence in July 2016.

Isuzu India has commenced bookings for its second generation D-Max V-Cross model in India with prices starting at Rs. 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The first generation Isuzu D-Max was only available in India as a single cab version and limited to the commercial segment. The new model though in V-Cross spec is available as a double cab version and on sale for private car buyers as well. This can greatly increase the D-Max’s market base considering the demand for lifestyle vehicles is on the rise in India at the affordable side of the scale as well. Plus the practicality of the D-Max for use both at work and as a personal vehicle makes it that much more viable.

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross was showcased in the country at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. With its tall profile and butch styling, the new Isuzu D-Max attracted significant attention at the Expo. Isuzu at the time promised to launch the pick-up truck later in 2016 and with a price tag of under Rs. 15 lakh. With the final price now out, we have to say that we are quite impressed considering its value proposition.

The D-Max V-Cross is powered by a BS IV compliant, four cylinder, common rail diesel engine developing 134hp of max power and 320Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and it also comes with a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system.

The new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is underpinned by a new chassis labeled as - iGRIP (Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform). The new chassis is said to provide better stability at higher speeds and around bends on the highway.

Alongside the passenger oriented V-Cross version, the new D-Max is also available in regular cab versions that are can be registered only as commercial vehicles. Deliveries for the new D-Max will commence in July 2016.
