Jeep Compass Trailhawk priced at ₹26.8 lakh

The 'Trail Rated' Jeep Compass Trailhawk will carry a price tag of ₹26.8 lakh nationwide and will be available for purchase at all 82 FCA-all brand retail touch points across the country.

Jeep India has just announced the price for its 'Trail Rated' Compass Trailhawk. While the starting price for the base Jeep Compass starts at ₹15.6 lakh, the all-new Trailhawk edition will cost ₹26.8 lakh (ex-showroom, nationwide).

The Compass Trailhawk gets the same 2.0-litre turbo diesel, but this time it’s BS-VI compliant, which is another segment first. Power is rated the same at 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. However, in the Trailhawk version, the Compass now gets a 9-speed automatic transmission. The gearbox has been borrowed from the Cherokee and other larger Jeep models.

Besides the new transmission, the Trailhawk has also received a few design changes. It has a redesigned front- and rear-end, which means that the car has better approach and departure angles. The ground clearance has also been increased to 205mm. The water fording capabilities of the car have also been improved, and the car now gets a better wading depth, thanks to a higher snorkel intake. The Trailhawk also gets a new suspension setup for better off-road capabilities, and the electronic power steering has been slightly finetuned.

Other than that, the car also gets a new driving mode called ROCK, and there is a 4-Low mode for the 4x4 system. This will aid the car while driving on rough terrains. The Trailhawk also gets new all-terrain tyres that are better suited for rough surfaces.

The Trailhawk essentially allows you to be more adventurous when you decide to go off-road. While there is a 4x4 system in the standard Compass as well, the Trailhakw gets all these added elements to make it more desirable for off-road enthusiasts.
