Kia is preparing to increase its market share in India by introducing the Clavis EV, which is based on the Carens. With its July 15 debut date, this new electric vehicle is anticipated to be a major component of Kia's plan to bolster its mass-market EV lineup in India. Although official specifications are still being kept under wraps, the Clavis EV is anticipated to have an urban-friendly size and a useful design, adhering to the Carens' appeal to families. After the EV6, this will be Kia's next big step, and it should provide a more affordable electric option. Before the official announcement of the Clavis EV, here is what we currently know about it.
The electric version of the Kia Carens Clavis is likely to retain the overall design language of its petrol-powered counterpart, with a few distinct elements to signal its EV identity. There will likely be a front-mounted charging port positioned at the centre, as indicated by recent spy images. The grille and angular LED headlamps are expected to remain unchanged, whereas the front bumper could see slight alterations.

Moving on, the Clavis EV is expected to roll on newly designed alloy wheels, potentially with aerodynamic styling. Other features which will be carried include side body cladding and roof rails. Expect significant changes to the back end, such as an EV badging, a revamped bumper, as well as full-width LED taillights.
The layout and design of the Kia Clavis EV's cabin are anticipated to be very similar to those of its ICE counterpart. A top-notch 8-speaker BOSE audio system, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, ambient lighting, front seat ventilation, wireless phone charging, a digital key, a panoramic sunroof, and two 12.3-inch infotainment and digital cluster screens are among the contemporary features that will be included. Besides this, the unique features of the EV, like Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging, will be offered as well.
Regarding safety technology, the Clavis EV is probably going to have two dash cams, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot view monitoring, tyre pressure monitoring, and parking sensors on both ends. Additionally, it is anticipated to provide Level 2 ADAS features such as driver alert systems, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beam.
The electric configuration of the Kia Carens Clavis EV will most likely be comparable to that of the Creta EV, which presently has two battery pack options. The base model has a driving range of about 390 km thanks to a 42kWh battery and a 133bhp motor mounted on the front axle.
