Kia Carens Clavis HTE, HTK, HTX and More Variants Explained: What's Different?

Kia has the Clavis, an upscale version of the Carens that combines SUV-inspired design elements with the spaciousness and practicality of an MPV. Equipped with advanced features, including Level-2 ADAS, the Clavis aims to provide a more refined driving experience. This new model will be available in a range of variants – HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+ – marking a clear step up from the standard Carens. Moreover, the vehicle will come in a variety of colours such as Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Ivory Silver Gloss, Gravity Grey, and Pewter Olive. While Kia has not revealed the official launch date yet, customers can begin booking the Clavis for Rs 25,000, with prices likely to start around Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Designed to compete with key players in the MPV market, including the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6, and Toyota’s Rumion and Innova models, the Clavis offers three engine choices. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 113bhp, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol producing 158bhp, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 114bhp. Transmission options include a new manual gearbox for the petrol engines, along with automatic transmissions available for the turbo petrol and diesel versions.
