Kia Syros Compact SUV Spied Testing in India Again, Reveals Interior Details

Kia Motor is currently working on its brand-new SUV, the Syros. According to reports, the car is anticipated to hit the market shortly. Before its official release, the model was spotted during testing, revealing a few important details about its interior. The South Korean carmaker has already filed for a patent for its name in the country. Several market rumours indicate that the upcoming model could be positioned between the brand's two popular offerings, the Seltos and Sonet. With the arrival of this new model in the competitive SUV segment, Indian car buyers will have a range of appealing options to choose from.

Kia Syros Compact SUV: Key Interior Details

The Syros will have a brand-new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, according to the most recent spy photos. Though it hasn't been seen on a Kia vehicle in India, this design appears to have been influenced by other current Kia models overseas as well as the K4 sedan, which made its worldwide premiere earlier this year. It will also have an offset Kia insignia. Dual displays, such as those found in the Seltos, are also shown in the interior spy image. The cabin will likely house a 10.25-inch digital driver's display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen panel. A scroll wheel for volume adjustment is one of the physical controls, located beneath the car's touchscreen.

Kia Syros Compact SUV: Design, Features, and Powertrain Options

The Syros will stand out from other SUVs in the class with its unique outward design. We anticipate a boxy stance, lending the vehicle a practical appearance. Previous spy photos indicate the Syros will feature vertically positioned headlamps with 7-shaped dual-function LED DRLs, roof rails, a signature tiger nose grille, and an all-LED lighting setup. Along with other updates, it is anticipated to come with diamond-cut alloy wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, driving and traction modes, leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, a climate control system, and a Bose audio system.

The Kia Syros will arrive with a petrol engine. It is expected to be available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) mill and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. However, it is unclear whether the brand will also provide a diesel engine option for the upcoming SUV. All of Kia's offerings in India have both petrol and diesel engine options. It appears that competitors such as the Tata Curvv will be up against the Kia Syros. 

Kia Syros Compact SUV: India Launch and Expected Price

The Syros petrol will go on sale early in the following year, after making its premiere towards the end of this one. Anticipate paying a little more than the Sonet, which has a price tag starting at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). The manufacturer plans to release its EV by mid-2025. Both ICE and EV variants will use the same platform. Furthermore, Kia may release a hybrid version of the SUV later.
