Lamborghini has launched its new entry-level Urus S model for the domestic market at a starting price of Rs 4.18 Crore (ex-showroom). The car is an updated version of the standard Urus and sits below the Urus Performante SUV. The Urus S is the second variant in the line-up, which replaces the standard Urus SUV. It is a more luxury- and comfort-focused SUV than the performance-oriented Urus Performante, which is currently available in India at Rs 4.22 Crore. In 2022, the Urus S marked its debut in international markets. Style-wise, the Urus S borrows some of its design cues from the Urus Performante – it gets revised bumpers at both ends, a single-tonne bonnet with cooling vents, new wheel arches, and more. The new Lamborghini Urus S will take on the likes of the BMW XM, Aston Martin DBX 707, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, and Audi RSQ8.

Lamborghini Urus S: Exterior

Design-wise, the Urus S gets revised bumpers at both ends, a single-tonne bonnet with cooling vents, new wheel arches, and a carbon-fibre painted roof. With a kerb weight of 2,197kgs, the new SUV runs on standard 21- or updated Taigete 23-inch wheels. Besides, the car's front skid plate has also been given fresh treatment, which comes with a matte-black finish. The rear end of the car has quad exhaust outlets. The car, according to the company, retains the muscular surface and strong lines of the standard Urus model.

Lamborghini also allows its customers to customise their vehicles in accordance with their tastes and preferences. The exterior of the car receives a significant increase in terms of customisation options in the form of colour schemes, wheels, trims, and style packages.

Lamborghini Urus S: Interior, Features

Inside, the new Urus S gets a five-seat cabin with new interior trims and colour options. It features leather upholstery, a leather-draped steering wheel with paddle shifters, and a minimalist dashboard design.

To up the luxury quotient, the company offers a wide range of Ad Personam options, which allow customers to personalise their vehicles.

Lamborghini Urus S: Powertrain, Performance

The luxurious Lamborghini Urus S draws power from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which is good for 657bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and 850Nm of peak torque at 2,300rpm – 4,500rpm. This engine, which also powers the standard Urus and the Urus Performante, is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The new SUV is claimed to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in only 3.5 seconds, which makes it around 0.2 seconds slower than the Urus Performante. It has a claimed top speed of 305km/h.

Lamborghini Urus S: Suspension and Braking

The Urus S is available with the same adaptive air suspension as the standard Urus. With this suspension, the Urus S also gets different traction control modes, which include Sabbia, Terra, Neve, Strada, Sport, and Corsa. In addition, the car comes with Ego drive mode, which offers the most versatile, comfortable, and sporty SUV experience in every environment, according to the company.

For its braking duties, the SUV uses a 440mm carbon-ceramic disc with 10-cylinder monoblock callipers at the front. The rear end gets a 370mm carbon-ceramic disc with 1-cylinder floating callipers. Other than that, the new vehicle is also equipped with an integrated parking brake for added safety.
