Lotus Cars, the famous British sports car manufacturer, has finally entered the Indian market and launched its all-electric Eletre SUV at a starting price of Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom). The Lotus Eletre is available in three different versions – the standard Eletre, the Eletre S, and the Eletre R Hyper-SUV. As of now, the Eletre is the most expensive and powerful electric SUV in India, with a maximum price of Rs 2.99 crore (ex-showroom). Lotus's first-ever pure electric SUV, the Eletre, will be sold through Exclusive Motors of New Delhi, which will also bring the Emira into the Indian market in 2024. Lotus says that the Emira will be its final internal combustion engine-powered sports car and will have two engine options – a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged with 355bhp and a 6-cylinder supercharged with 395bhp.

Built on the brand's new Electric Premium Architecture, the Eletre is a futuristic electric SUV that reflects a significant infusion of sports car DNA. The result is an entirely fresh lifestyle SUV tailored for the upcoming generation of Lotus enthusiasts. The front end showcases distinctive features such as sharp edges, a low-slung stance, an active front grille, L-shaped LED headlights, and a compact bonnet with two air vents.

Observing the vehicle from the sides, a sloping roofline reminiscent of the Lamborghini Urus adds to its sleek profile. The standard 22-inch 5-spoke alloy rims contribute to the SUV's dynamic aesthetic, though 20- and 23-inch options are also available. The rear design incorporates a raked tailgate, a carbon-fibre roof-mounted spoiler, and interconnected LED taillamps.
