The made-in-India Suzuki Fronx has secured a four-star safety rating in crash tests conducted by the Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP).

The Suzuki Fronx compact SUV has earned a four-star safety rating from the Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP). The tested model was manufactured in India but featured extra safety features not available in the Indian version. With an overall safety score of 84 percent, the Suzuki Fronx proved effective in both crash protection and accident prevention, making it a safe choice in the compact SUV category.

In the detailed crash test results, the Suzuki Fronx scored 163.75 out of 193.8 points. Its performance in preventive safety, which includes features like autonomous emergency braking (AEB), earned 79.42 out of 85.8 points. The SUV also scored 76.33 out of 100 in collision safety tests. It excelled in the offset frontal collision test with 21.08 out of 24 points and received a Level 5 rating in full-wrap frontal, side-impact, and pedestrian protection assessments.
The Japan-spec Suzuki Fronx is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a mild hybrid system, delivering 103bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. It also comes equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip Select all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, enhancing traction and stability across varying road conditions.
In India, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is the only car in the company’s range to offer a turbocharged petrol engine. This 1.0-litre engine delivers 99bhp and 147Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, offering a more engaging driving experience.

Fronx also comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine is available with a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. For buyers looking for fuel savings, the Fronx CNG variant uses the same 1.2-litre engine, delivering 76bhp and 98.5Nm of torque, and is available only with a five-speed manual transmission.
